Take a look around your home at all the things that you own and pay attention to the fact that they are not all uniform in size. Yes, we know you are already aware of this, but it is something that is regularly forgotten by people when it comes time to move home. Most remember at the last minute and try to make do with any old boxes they find, oblivious to the fact that wear and tear on said boxes can make them totally unsuitable for moving purposes. The only way to ensure that a move goes off without a hitch and results in as few damaged items as possible is to make sure to plan ahead.
One of the best ways to be organized on moving day is to start packing well. There are likely plenty of items in the home that aren't being used, and which won't be missed if they are put into moving boxes weeks ahead of the scheduled moving date. This actually helps in a couple of different ways. The first is that there will actually be less to do in the stressful couple of days before the moving truck arrives, with the second benefit being that you don't have to splash out on all of your boxes and packing materials at one time.
Take a look at the items that can be packed up early, head over to the London Man Van website and order what you need for those specific items. If you have a few extra quid going extra at that time, you might consider getting some additional moving boxes that you know you are going to need in the future. When you look at the site, you will see that there are plenty of different box sizes to choose from, as well as a host of packing materials that will be absolutely essential for the move.
If you aren't really sure where to begin, how about starting out with some of those old clothes that you aren't wearing right now. For example, if it’s the middle of summer, you can probably pick up a wardrobe box or to and pack up all of your winter clothes. There isn't likely going to be any need for sweaters and heavy rain jackets in June or July, so get the moving boxes you need and get them packed away early.
If need be, write down a list of items that might need to be specially wrapped, such as valuable and breakables. These, too, should be done early so that you don’t rush closer to moving day and end up wrapping them poorly. Creating a list of this kind will also help you see what sort of special packing materials, such as bubble wrap and tissue paper will be needed.
